New York Diner & Bagel offers a taste of New York in the middle of Valrico.  Established in May 2009 by Marissa Jordan and her husband Chris, and with the help of Marissa’s aunt, they offer up authentic New York bagels and breads and New York style overstuffed hero sandwiches, plus Coney Island Dogs, Black Angus Burgers, Brooklyn Gyros, Salads, Dinners, and Manhattan Gourmet Desserts! You can also have breakfast any time with their selection of Omelettes, Skillets, Breakfast Sandwiches, Pancakes, Belgian Waffles, French Toast, or Combo Platters.

“Why is this “authentic?” you ask.  Well, the bagels are flown in from the Bronx, knishes from Brooklyn, Kaiser rolls from the Bronx, cheesecake from Junior’s in Brooklyn, and the rest of the desserts from New Jersey.

The idea was to have a “Mel’s Diner” atmosphere.  They wanted a family atmosphere where everyone could hang out with friends.  They wanted a place where the customers feel like part of the family.  Back in New York there are diners on every other corner.  Marissa has been in the restaurant business for years and she knows what it takes to serve up a winner.

In addition to the regular dishes, New York Diner & Bagel has a Kids Meal menu for children under 12 years.  They also have specialty coffees, fountain drinks, root beer floats, and for all you displaced New Yorkers they serve old fashioned Egg Creams.
